Celebrating 10 years of Magic

LiggieFees@Potch is an annual event held every December, drawing thousands to the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home to experience a spectacular light festival that has grown into one of Potchefstroom’s biggest and most beloved events.

The festival began in 2015 as a small-scale fundraising initiative by the management team who identified an opportunity to bridge the large gap between the subsidy we receive and the funds needed to take care of our 230 children

We decided to light up our campus for a full week, hoping to attract at least 100 visitors per night. To our delight, we welcomed over 17,000 visitors at the first ever LiggieFees@Potch!

Since then, the event has grown exponentially, and to date, just under half a million visitors have come through our gates. What started as a humble effort is now the largest festival in Potchefstroom, and it continues to be our flagship fundraising event. It sustains our organization and ensures we can give the best possible care to the children entrusted to us.

A cozy market where you can pick and choose from a variety of pretty things, food, wooden items, toys, home goods, shiny things, gifts, and keepsakes… our exhibitors have been specially selected and are hard at work to showcase the best products, from handmade to imported, so that you can find that perfect gift or something special for yourself… young and old can come browse, stroll, admire, and shop to their heart’s content…
